Overview

I am responsible for upgrading our original branded Canvas Viewstream, an outstream format featuring a static branded canvas, to a cross-channel version. Utilizing Kargo’s proprietary video platform, Fabrik, the new branded Canvas Viewstream facilitates a seamless transition to diverse animations.

Elevate client brand's presence by seamlessly fusing video with a rich-media or static banner, creating an immersive branded experience that commands attention and drives awareness. With customizable banner features, the brand will drive unparalleled interaction like never before.

Our original branded Canvas Viewstreams were designed with fixed dimensions tailored to the mobile environment, resulting in a suboptimal appearance when displayed on desktop screens. Additionally, these units had limited capability for displaying branded banners and did not support banner animations.

Conversely, the Venti unit can incorporate a video player and various banner animations. Despite these advantages, the unit still appeared unsuitable on desktop displays due to its mobile-centric design.

The Design Journey

Designing and building great products is never a straightforward process. In my role as the Lead Interactive Designer for Video Product Innovation, I had several key responsibilities. I led a design sprint, conducted product tests across various publisher pages, and collaborated with the Product team on coding solutions. This was a team effort at every stage.

Features a prominent video player that is optimized to the screen that content is being consumed on, following a basic aspect ratio of 16:9 video + 6:5 asset regardless of screen

Providing versatile applications with ISI, Product Carousel, Store Locator, Location Based, Product Feeds

CORE Enabled

Transacted as true video instead of display + Build the creative once and dynamically adjusts to the screen size

Next Steps

Following the successful launch of the Enhanced BCV, our mission is to further develop the unit's interactivity. The next iteration will feature a double companion banner paired with a video player unit. This version will support an image gallery and messaging simultaneously. Additionally, we are considering a display banner with integrated video and Important Safety Information (ISI) specifically for pharmaceutical brands.

Another variation will include Dynamic Product Ads (DPA) within the banner of the Enhanced BCV. This enhancement will go beyond brand awareness by connecting users directly to a shopping experience.
